ENHANCING REAL ESTATE
The vast majority of golf courses are a component of larger real estate developments. Knowing how to maximize their contribution to the overall development plan without compromising the course is a specialty of Bechtol Golf Design.

Utilizing more than a quarter-century experience planning large scale developments, Bechtol Golf Design provides fine-tuned expertise on how to best locate and plan a course to create the greatest aesthetic for the rest of the community and the least impact on its residents and ecosystem. Bechtol Golf Design's familiarity with course maintenance and sustainable landscape architecture results in the substantial benefit of making our courses dramatic improvement with age while generating some of the industry's lowest annual maintenance fees.

WE WORK WITH YOU
Any undertaking as large as creating a golf course requires individuals to work together. Years of successful collaboration with owners, developers, golf pros, contractors and regulatory agencies has garnered Bechtol Golf Design a reputation as a team player. We are conscious builders, equally at home discussing land use and permitting with developers as we are talking up fairway and green configurations with golfers.

Through the years, Bechtol Golf Design has worked in association with some of golf's legendary players and architects, including Lee Trevino, Tom Fazio, Jay and Carter Morrish, Pete Dye, Tom Weiskopf and others. A long-term friendship with Tom Kite eventually led to the formation of Kite-Bechtol, an independent design partnership.

NATURALISTS
The last quarter-century has seen a dramatic increase in awareness about the impact golf courses have on the environment. Bechtol Golf Design has remained ahead of this issue by pioneering responsible approaches to course design.

Our belief is that most golfers are simply naturalists with clubs who appreciate courses which enhance the natural surroundings and resident habitats. Consequently, Bechtol Golf Design courses are integrated into their natural surroundings, employ low impact landscaping with minimum water or chemical needs and are designed to protect surrounding water quality. We are well versed with Audubon Society principles and have vast experience working with sensitive ecosystems (in fact our Black Bear Golf Course in Dehli, Louisiana is the home course of that state's famed Audubon Golf Trail).

This stewardship approach has earned Bechtol Golf Design the respect of conservationists and numerous environmental awards for responsible planning, development and habitat protection.
